Following Pastor Chuck’s fall in November, his physicians discovered that he was experiencing low blood pressure, and further testing on his heart revealed that his aortic valve needs to be replaced. His physicians are confident that after this common procedure, he will have renewed energy and good health for years to come.

It’s time for a brief update on where things are regarding my health. I went to the hospital early Tuesday morning with Cynthia and Charissa (Colleen soon joined us), and it wasn’t long before I was getting prepared for the angiogram procedure. It could not have gone better—from start to finish!

My second procedure is scheduled for January 4, when my doctor will go back in and replace the aortic valve in my heart. I will recover from that through January—and, with great delight, will return to the pulpit on February 4! Between now and then, the pulpit will be faithfully filled by Jonathan Murphy and Chip Dickens.

I am so grateful for everyone’s prayers and words of encouragement. Thank you, sincerely. It occurred to me while I was leaving the hospital last evening that great things happen when excellent medical help and competent physicians do their work along with the loving support of one’s family and friends. When that convergence occurs at the same time and the Lord is in the midst of it all, healing takes place. By the grace of God, that is what I am experiencing.

Happy New Year! I heard of Pastor Swindoll upcoming surgery today. I had open heart surgery in June of 2022 to replace my aortic valve with a mechanical one. It was a long recovery, but by the grace of God I was back to my teaching job in August of that year. My surgeon and nurses were such a blessing – and my husband was a great help in those first difficult days. We will be praying for you! 🙏😊🙏. Blessings from Nebraska!
